Poongodhai Textile Mills entered into the textile Field in the year 1980, with 100 ordinary shuttle looms. The company became a major domestic grey cloth supplier with 2000 Shuttle looms during late 80's, specializing in Drill cloth.

During early 90's the company developed additional facilities like Sizing, Rewinding and started its own Spinning mill to get quality yarn. In the year 1999 the company started export of grey cloth with all types of weave as a 100% Export Oriented Unit.

In the Millennium Year 2000, The company established Automatic Shuttle less looms to produce best quality fabrics. Now, the company has the ability to produce Quality Weaving like Plain, Oxford, Twill, Gabardine, Mat, Broken Twill, Drill, Herringbone, Crepe, Satin, Stripe Satin, Ottoman.

Now, the company owns 156 Nos. Imported Sulzer Looms - viz., 84 PU-model looms and 56 TW-11 Model looms with production capacity of 15000 Meters/day.
